Biography

Harold "Hal" Beede grew up in Reading, Massachusetts, and has lived in southeastern New Hampshire since 1992. He has been solving legal problems and "righting wrongs" for his clients in various civil law matters through

  • effectively advocating clients' claims to their adversaries;

  • constructing and asserting well-supported settlement demands and negotiation;

  • engaging productive mediation to the client's advantage; and

  • diligently pressing civil lawsuits and skillfully conducting trials in the courts, as well as winning appeals,

  • in Massachusetts since 1992 and in New Hampshire since 1997.

Attorney Beede joined Healey, Deshaies, Gagliardi & Woelfel, PC, in 2003. Prior to this he was principal of the Law Office of Harold Owen Beede PC and a partner in the law firm of Arcos & Beede LLP, each with offices in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Healey, Deshaies, Gagliardi & Woelfel, PC, merged with Dalton & Finegold, LLP, in May of 2022.

Attorney Beede has litigated for individuals, small businesses and large corporate clients at all levels of state and federal trial and appellate courts, including obtaining favorable published decisions in the Massachusetts Appeals Court, the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, and the New Hampshire Supreme Court.

Areas of Practice

Attorney Beede provides solid legal advice and strong representation for clients in a wide range of civil matters. Just some of the types of civil cases in which he has brought success to clients include:

  • Job / employment issues including prosecuting or defending against wrongful termination and discrimination claims, reasonable accommodation, unpaid overtime claims; interpreting and enforcing severance agreements, non-compete and non-solicitation covenants

  • Private and commercial contract disputes

  • Landlord - tenant actions (evictions, writing and interpreting leases, etc.)

  • Trust and Will contests

  • Real property / land issues including appeals of denials of permits and variances, zoning violations; as well as resolving title defects ("quiet title actions"), adverse possession, prescriptive easements, and right-of-way and property line / boundary disputes.
